After two long months of being away, I’m just ready to start getting back into the swing of things with my blog. Despite me being gone due to my very busy schedule, I have been discovered and fallen many things. For my first blog post back, I thought sharing my few current favourites while I was gone is a great way to start after my long hiatus.
FASHION AND LIFESTYLE
Short hair
To be quite honest this is a favourite as of yesterday. I decided that after so many years of having the same length of hair, I wanted a change and chopped off 3 inches of hair. My hair has always been mid-chest length since high school. Now my hair is just above my shoulders and it is crazy how much my head feels lighter from less hair. I haven’t had this short of hair since 6th grade elementary, that’s a decade ago!
Cosplay Wigs
When I want an instant change I love wearing my colourful cosplay wigs. My collection ranges from natural long brown wigs to pastel pinks and lavender. It’s a nice and fun way to change up my look without ruining my hair with bleach.
ENTERTAINMENT AND TECHNOLOGY
CoffeewithChrachel podcast
Podcasts have been my new discovery thanks to MarissaLace on YouTube, and she was recently a guest for a podcast ran by her friend Rachel Whitehurst (also on YouTube). I love this podcast and have binged listened to all of them! The couple talk about everything and anything, from their fun anecdotes to their two cats to their everyday lives, all while sipping their coffees. Ever since I discovered the beauty of podcasts, I have been searching and discovering other fun podcasters.
Daily Instagrams
I may have been gone from my blog but I have taken the habit of posting an Instagram picture every single day since January. I’ve been enjoying just taking pictures to summarize my day or just show something inspiring.
Plant Nanny App
This app was a discovery thanks to Rachel Whitehurst on her podcast. She mentioned the app multiple times and I was interested. This is a fun and adorable way to track your water intake per day. It is one of my 2016 goals to try and drink more water and this app is my way of keeping in track with this goal. You much plant a seed, each time you drink water and input in into the app you help make the seed grow. After the days and months will go by you will slowly find yourself with a garden filled with plants. I highly recommend this app if you are trying to track your water intake per day! Did I mention this app was free on the iTunes store?
Super Mario World on Wii U
I recently download the Super Mario World game on the Virtual Console on my Wii U. This game has brought back so much memories with my childhood. This game has been part of my life for so long and having back in my life so enjoyable.
FOOD
Homemade scones
I’ve been making homemade scones as a quick on-the-go breakfast or tea snack. My homemade scones have been a hit with my family and friends. I used a plain scone recipe because I love the idea that it can be customizable for each person. Any type of spread can be used for these scones, from butter and jam to Nutella or cream, the sky is the limits as to what anyone could use as a spread for my scones.
Popcorners
This has been my obsession. I love this popcorn-chip hybrid. I first discovered this from my aunt in California, but sadly Canada did not carry these chips, that is until recently. I bought a huge bulk box of these chips and it was all gone within three days!
TV SHOWS
Legends of Tomorrow
The new DC TV show added to the CW network. I love it, just like all my other DC comic TV shows. This show has time travel, adventure, action and an amazing cast! Every episode gets me excited for next week and really Greg Berlanti (Producer of all the DC comic TV shows) has really out done himself with this series!
Anime
I have fallen back in love with the anime scene and world. During my down times these past few months I have been watching so much anime series. I have fallen back in love with Naruto and binged watched the most of the Shippuden series (not watching filler episodes) and after 5 years I am finally caught up with the series again. I have also watched Free! Iwatobi Swim Club; Owari no Seraph; Go!Princess Precure; Dance with Devils; Uta no Prince-Sama; No Game No Life, and really the list goes on!
That is what I have been currently loving while I have been gone. In the comments below I would love to know what you are all loving for the month of February!
